SALSA LOCA - HER!
CUBITA - HER!
PICASON - HER!
- and by now it is probably known to most of the people I work with that I live a "double life" with an "alter ego" as lead-singer, violonist and chorist in some of the best salsa-, son- and charanga-orchestras in Denmark: Cubita, Salsa Loca, Grupo Danson, and Swiss salsa-big-band Picason.
My passion for latin-jazz has been dominating throughout my whole life, ever since I began to relate critically to the music, I hear; and it was therefore a natural developement for me to start experimenting with singing salsa 15 years ago, when I started out with a bunch of just as "salsa-hit" co-students at the Royal Acadamy of Music and formed a salsa-group which later became "Candela".
This turned into the beginning of a life-long passion, which has not diminished by my marriage to Cuban singer Ernesto Manuitt, one of the leading salsa-singers here and abroad.
All of "my" orchestras have become imensely popular on the latin-jazz scene in DK and Europe, and through the years we have built up a group of devoted fans which follows us around whereever we play.
The orchestras represent each of their genre within the latin music, but uniting them and the music is a never-ending source of energy and a musical firework which can take the breath away from anyone; that is, if they are not overwhelmed by an incredible urge to dance, which, luckily, is what mostly happens at our concerts!
